The Corriedale sheep was developed in New Zealand in the late 1800s by crossing Lincoln and Leister longwool rams with merino ewes. Corriedale is now the most significant wool breed next to merino. Corriedale wool has bounce and crimp along with a longer staple length. It is very popular with all fiber crafts. Corriedale blends beautifully with mohair. It is an excellent wool for handspinners and felters!
