Cottage Garden Indie Dyed Lockspun Mohair
We begin by dying our white mohair locks in a riot of colors. The locks are then handspun into a beautiful artyarn. The technique we use is called lockspun. We spin it thick and thin with the curlyques popping out here and there. This is a single ply yarn.
Our lockspun yarn is perfect for utility items such as woven wall hangings, table runners, braided coasters, and rugs. It is also excellent for adding a pop of color and texture to knitted items such as hats and sweaters.
This particular lot of dyed mohair produced enough to handspin four skeins, each no less than 5 ounces and no less than 7 yards. When next to each other, they look alike, but are each one of a kind.
